I conduct research in issues related to gender, conflict and democratic control over natural resources. I have researched the sustainability of municipal electricity procurement in the Netherlands, for which I collected and analyzed data from the databases where tenders are registered. I also recently participated in a research on how the activities of the Canadian mining company Eldorado Gold irreversibly damaged the environment in Greece, while the company evaded taxes using Dutch mail boxes. I am interested in getting to know innovative research methodologies, specifically focused on Freedom of Information requests and the use of open data.
