EIJC & Dataharvest is an annual, four-day conference, organised by Journalismfund.eu, which brings together journalism heavyweights, data specialists and coding whiz-kids to exchange skills and story ideas. EIJC18 & Dataharvest will take place on Thursday 24, Friday 25, Saturday 26 and Sunday morning 27 May 2018. Like last year, place to be is the charming city of Mechelen, 20 minutes outside of Brussels and very easily accessible! Pieter Fannes adores drawing with brushes for the freedom and looseness it allows, for the accidents along the road, the meanings hidden in an unexpected twirl of the brush, the possibilities uncovered by an splash of ink on the page. It is this energy that he wants to transfer.
He does book illustration, editorial work and commercial illustration and specializes in live drawings, often of musicians in concert. His clients include Oxfam Wereldwinkels, Medor, L'Echo, VRT and De Standaard. His most recent book, "Live. Jazzconcerten op papier" (with Yann Bagot, 2018) has been edited by Bries.
